Pianist Jean-Sébastien Simonoviez returns to Smalls with a trio featuring two familiar forces from Bangkok’s jazz scene — Pong Nakornchai on drums and Pornchart Viriyapark on double bass.

This trio is all about interaction. Original compositions, passing melodies, unexpected turns — whatever enters the room becomes material to work with, stretch out, and shape together.

🎹 Jean-Sébastien Simonoviez – Keys
A versatile pianist, composer, and arranger, Jean-Sébastien began studying music at a young age and soon moved into international collaborations across Europe and the U.S. He has recorded numerous albums, led innovative ensembles, and since 2015 has built strong creative ties throughout Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Indonesia.

🥁 Pong Nakornchai – Drums
One of Bangkok’s most respected drummers, Pong is a leading voice in the city’s progressive jazz scene. His free-spirited, original approach combines raw energy with deep sensitivity. This performance marks his return to Smalls since January.

🎻 Pornchart Viriyapark – Double Bass
A longtime collaborator with Pong, Pornchart anchors the quartet with depth, balance, and responsive interplay, providing a strong foundation for the group’s collective sound.
