What to Expect
Discover Movement, Balance, and Connection. Taekkyeon is a UNESCO-recognized Korean martial art known for its flowing movements, rhythmic footwork, and emphasis on balance. In this workshop, participants will learn basic Taekkyeon movements and breathing techniques while exploring their connection to meditation, sound, and improvisational movement. Through practice, you’ll release tension, improve body awareness, and discover new ways of connecting with yourself and others. About Song Ji-yong: Song Ji-yong is a Korean dance meditator and Taekkyeon practitioner. He has trained in Taekkyeon, Korea’s traditional martial art, since the age of eight, winning several national competitions and performing internationally. For over ten years, he has led workshops and performances that connect movement, meditation, sound, and traditional culture. He also studied Korean philosophy and Donghak thought at the graduate level and continues to share his work through performances, workshops, and writing
