What to Expect

This session is about challenging your own beliefs through discussion and debate.

We’ll explore three discussion topics:

1. Should university education be free?
2. Should universities use numerical grades at all?
3. Should attendance be mandatory?

Before joining, decide what your real opinion is on each topic. Then, during the discussion, you must argue for the opposite position.
The goal is not to “win” the debate, but to understand perspectives you normally disagree with, question your assumptions, and practise thinking more critically.

The event is divided into 2 parts:
1. Position Round
We introduce ourselves, share our actual opinions, and explain why we hold them
2. Opposite Side Debate
You’ll defend the position you disagree with and respond to arguments from others
