Club Seven Bells pres. Scott Young!

Scott Young came up across two very different rooms. The vinyl listening bars of Hong Kong, where he held a residency at Potato Head and learned to let records breathe over vintage JBL monitors, and the post-industrial club circuit of Northern England, where he eventually landed and stayed.

His records have come out on Born Free, Opal Tapes, Discos Capablanca, OOH-Sounds, Superpang, and diy records. Beautiful Swimmers picked a track for The Trilogy Tapes. Black Lodge called him out by name in a Visit Manchester interview for playing “really heavy weird techno.” He has been profiled in Dazed alongside Carista, Teki Latex, and Hodge. He has done NTS, Noods, Bleep, LYL. He runs his own tape label, Less Loss. He also guest lectured at City University of Hong Kong’s School of Creative Media.

After a stretch of studio work and family life, 2026 has him back in the booth. The sets now lean into long hypnotic arcs in the Villalobos lineage, threaded through psychedelic disco edits and cosmic funk. The slow-build sensibility from those Hong Kong listening rooms, sharpened against the weight of a Northern dancefloor.
